Capitol Spades tournament resultsOn June 5th 2010 the Annual Capital Spades Tournament took place with fourteen teams competing. The tournament saw over half the teams participating for the first time and players were very excited to compete.
The tournament had a preliminary round which saw five games take place and the top four teams when to the finals of the competition. The finals were run in a double elimination format and the top two teams earned prize money which totaled $675.
Players could play in the tournament for $52.50 if they paid ahead of time or they could pay $60 cash at the door. The modern version of spades was played and the turnout was great for the tournament. The format of the tournament was a modified round robin event in which each team would play at least five games.
First place went to the team created of Randy of Alexandria, Virginia and Paula of Fairfax, Virginia. Send place went to Ben of Arlington, Virginia and Libby of Fairfax, Virginia. Third place went to James and Adam of Centerville, Virginia and fourth place went to Eddie and Kyle of Alexandria, Virginia.
